I had never heard of TRX bands but stumbled upon them while shopping for a small piece of equipment to do inverted rows. There were a few smaller specialty pieces of equipment just for inverted rows / pull ups, but then I noticed these bands in the search results. Turns out these bands cost much less than the other equipment I was considering and can do a ton more exercises. No brainer.It turns out my wife uses these in her ‘burn’ classes and my son also uses them in his middle school sports training. They were both very excited when they saw the box and I now see why. Very easy to install, very easy to use and you can do a ton of challenging exercises with them.I installed them in the ceiling using a TRX X-mount and it has worked perfect. Although technically it looks like you can mount these on the top of a door, that looks like it would greatly reduce the number of exercises you can do. To me, it wouldn’t be worth it if I had to mount it on top of a door. The rows I purchased these for are done while laying flat on the ground almost directly under the ceiling mount. So if I had mounted it on at the top of a door, then this exercise wouldn’t have been possible (nowhere to put your feet / extend your legs). The installation instructions start by saying you need a space that’s 8 ft deep and 6 feet side to workout in. And when you read further, it specifies that length wise it should be 5 feet behind you and 3 feet in front of you (for a total of 8). For me the ceiling mount was 100% the way to go. I moved some other equipment around to make sure the workout space for these was the recommended width of 6 ft wide (3 ft on each side). Having the full 8 ft X 6 ft space available to work out in makes a big difference.My wife and son are very happy with this purchase and I unexpectedly got a new piece of equipment that’s just as valuable as everything else in our weight room (and it cost less and takes up a lot less space). Plus the exercises are surprisingly very challenging and effective.Very happy with this purchase.

The positive reviews are in-line with what I experienced after owning this for a couple of weeks. I do recommend the TRX product, the materials are solid. I cannot speak about other brands but from a safety observation, when you are doing the Y-fly or the low-row movements. The last thing you want are the clips flying back to your un-protected face at 50-mph. If you are able to securely mount the end to a over-head tree branch or hook in an open door way this makes some of the movements more intense and you do not have to adjust the strap lengths if you work-out partner is shorter or taller. Not a show-stopper, but you have to wait but you can use that as the 30-sec rest period. If all you have is a closed door to mount your TRX this will still work just fine. I do recommend registering your TRX product with TRX. I got four free video work-outs from the TRX app I can watch on my iPad/iPhone. From my experience most of the movements involve your core a lot or at some level. The side planks, crunches, atomic push-ups work! I was sore then next day. The DVD that comes with the box has a few work-outs to follow and it give a good 30-minute work-out. There is also a reference book inside that is helpful. What is cool about this product is very portable and it comes with it’s own travel bag. The kit also comes with a warning sign to hang on the outside of they door you are work-out on to let people on the other side of the door know you are working out, as well as a reminder when you use the TRX product to lock the door so your TRX product in case somebody forgot your are using the door to work-out with. Overall, I recommend this product, you can also download other work-outs from the TRX app for a $1.99 at the time of this review.

I’m still learning the exercises, but the experience so far is a blast. Exercises that feel moderately impactful turn out to hit the whole core plus the target muscles deeply, every time, and the results are pretty immediate in strength gains plus functional movement ability. I’m 64, and I do 45 minutes of Pilates on a reformer and then a 3 mile nordic walk every morning. I have weight trained since I was 34, and I’ve had to stop because of injury so many times with free weights. This – this forces you to strengthen core first with every exercise. It is so much more effective than free weights for this. Best aging body exercises ever.

I am very delighted with my TRX home gym system. It was easy to setup. There are many TRX training videos online ranging from installation to workouts for beginners and more advanced users. Some people have it in the garage. I have it inside the house and use it two or three times a day. It is wonderful, especially in cold days.

I love TRX and these are great quality. They don’t have the bells and whistles like the Pro straps – foam handles vs rubber, no Velcro on the foot cradles, different clamping system – but they work great and are comfortable on the grip. Easy to use and provide a great workout!

I was introduced to the TRX system at our local gym. I used it there to do several squat exercises. I decided to get the home version to be able to do those exercises correctly at home.The unit comes with an book of sample exercises and the ability to anchor it to a ceiling wall, etc. I only use the item that allows you to use a closed door rather than a permanent connection.This makes the unit very portable (planning to use it at hotels on our next trip). To date, I have only used it for the squat exercises. It is very stable using the connection to the door.I gave it 4 stars because I want to see how long the strap for the door lasts with the stress placed on it. So far so good. My quads (and back) appreciate it.

I use the TRX system at my gym, I’m a big fan as it lets me do so much in a functional way. Been looking around for home use when I can’t get to the gym and this is it. There is a cheaper version floating around but the straps are narrower and don’t feel as robust. The hand holds/stirrups also are not as good as these ones. Very happy with the way these adjust too, much faster with the speed clips so going from exercise to exercise is fast. I bolted a hanger into my ceiling joist so I use the yellow extension strap and it works great, but the door hanger is also included with this.The best part of the TRX is it travels well. I can go on vacation or conventions and I have a gym in a bag. Seriously the best purchase for folks into fitness.
